My family and I love watching Christmas movies, and one of our favorites is The Grinch. We make it a point to watch all three versions every holiday season!
What’s great about The Grinch is that there are now three movies to choose from. Whether you like the original story, the new twist on the story, or the Jim Carrey version, there’s a Grinch movie for everyone.
Who is The Grinch?
The Grinch is a Dr. Seuss character known for stealing Christmas. He is the focus of the book How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Why is the Grinch Green?
It is said that the Grinch is green because the cartoonist had rented a car of that color and was so struck by its oddness that he applied it to the character.
Who plays the Grinch
The latest version of the Grinch was released in 2018. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the voice of the Grinch, and Pharrell Williams is the narrator.
How old is the Grinch?
In the story, the Grinch laments that he has had to put up with the Whos’ celebration of Christmas for 53 years. Dr. Seuss was 53 when he wrote and published the book, which is likely why he chose that number specifically. It’s a representation of how even though the Grinch has been dealing with this issue for a long time, he’s still holding on to some hope that things will change.
What animal is the Grinch?
The Grinch is a creature with a cat-like face, hairy body, and pot belly. He is also known to be snub-nosed. He is generally depicted as being cynical in personality.
Why did the Grinch hate Christmas?
The Grinch is the complete opposite of the Whos. While the Whos are cheerful, the Grinch is unpleasant and angry. The reason for this difference is unknown; however, the Whos speculate that the Grinch was born with a heart that is “two sizes too small.”
The Grinch particularly dislikes Christmas because of all the noise that comes with it, including Christmas carols. He can’t stand the holiday anymore and decides to put an end to it.
He had a crush on Martha May Whovier, one of the prettiest girls in his school. A bully began to pick on the Grinch, including making fun of his beard.
The Grinch cut his face attempting to shave, and his classmates — except Martha — laughed at him, causing the Grinch to lose his temper and declare that he hates Christmas.
All of the Dr. Seuss The Grinch Movies
In this live-action adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ classic holiday tale, the reclusive Grinch decides to ruin Christmas for the cheery citizens of Whoville. Reluctantly joined by his hapless dog, Max, the Grinch comes down from his mountaintop home and sneaks into town. Can the Grinch succeed in his scheme to destroy Christmas? Or will the holiday spirit of the Whos finally melt his frozen heart. The 2018 3D computer-animated movie is the third time that the story of the Grinch has been adapted for the screen. In this version, the Grinch plans to ruin Whoville’s Christmas celebration by stealing all the town’s decorations and gifts.
